Hello! yesterday was interesting... Despite being really really tired because no one ever goes to sleep here earlier than 1am.. I decided to try to run 5 miles.. i was initially planning to do this around the big outdoor track thingy but they ended up having a soccer game there so idecided it probably wouldnt have been the best idea to ask somone if i could still run there. Instead i thought i'd look at a trail that I'd seen kinda near the main walkway thing (the '1/4 mile' which is porbably more than a quarter mile.. im gonna measure it someday) and although the trail was nice and well-kept it was kinda squeezed between the road and the school and thus was only 1.25 miles long and kinda twisty. I went around there twice and then went to the indoor track which ive been to before and ran another 3 miles... the problem with the indoor track is that its 1/8th mile so you've got to go around it alot to really get anywhere and after a while it gets kinda boring but its not that bad.. most of what i end up doing is trying to make sure I don't lose track of what lap im on. This time i actually stretched before running which made a little bit of a difference. anyway yeah so at 6:30 i went to one of the parking lots and went with some other macRIT people to some community college (named MCC maybe monroe or something like that) for the Apple C.I.D.E.R. 25th anniversary deal featuring none other than STEVE WOZNIAK!! for all who do not know who The Woz is, he is the co-founder of apple computer and he designed and built the apple I and II himself.. among other things he had built a functional computer by 8th grade and also enjoyed finding schematics of computers from other companies and completely redesigning them to use less components and be more efficient.. and people these days think it's pretty cool to assemble a computer of premanufactured boards- most of us have never come close to assembling our own systems from indivdual components. Systems now of course are more complex in comparison to the apple I considering most of the parts on the apple were actually wired together with actual wires compared to the multi-layer pcb boards used to today, sometimes with up to 4 layers of trace wires sandwiched in there connecting components, boards today aren't the kinds of things you can really produce at home in your spare time. You could however build yourself an Apple I if you wanted to, and recently somone has started doing so and selling them, with approval from woz. After leaving apple he's also started and supports dozens of charitys and programs related to education as well as still contributing to the techie world in numerous ways and occasionally expressing his opinion to steve jobs. so yeah anyway.. got a pic with him too :) http://www.ujcswc.org/adamwoz.jpg i also got the program thing signed by him.. looks exactly like the signature on the woz edition IIgs.. he was signing people's ipods and powerbooks and everything.. that was cool. so yeah.. today.. thursdays are my most full class days- straight from 8am to 4pm no break for anything not even lunch.. luckily today we didnt use all 3 hours of the bio lab period so I was able to go and get something to eat.. eventually went to the anime club meeting at 7:30... for about an hour (or maybe a little less) most of us were in line for signing up and paying for membership/library access including me.. after which we watched a fansub of macross zero which looks decent.. as well as the first episode of excel saga which for some reason was funnier on the dvd release and on a big screen with a few hundred people laughing with you.. dropped by the library after which has actually like 20 times more vhs than dvd since they just started buying dvds recently although im sure in the next 2 the dvd collection will probably increase exponentially.. i took out the first disc of niea under 7 and inu yasha even though i have both on cd might as well watch them on dvd if i can.. there was some stuff i dont have that i want to watch that was in the library but it was on vhs and we dont have a vcr in this room.. yet. so yeah its 1:30am im sort of tired.. kinda dizzy for some reason.. its really warm in here since the a/c hasnt been on since last night and although i dont have class for another 11 hours i think ill goto sleep since i should have about 2 hours ago.. so ya.. one question.. i was wondering why i never get many comments...
