Feb. 23rd, 2008 04:02 pmSince I was driving around anyway I finally decided to stop by Video Barn, to see if their anime selection really was what it had been always hyped to be.
The verdict: yup, that be a lot of animez! Most things were complete series as well, although he said if he gets the first/second disc of something and no one ever rents it, then he won't usually get the rest, so there were a few things that there was only a disc 1 for (like Tehxnolyze, really seems like no one really likes it, or at least never gave it enough of a chance. I have yet to watch the rest of the disc I have). I'm thinking I'll probably go back to video barn when I have enough time to watch Rahxephon, maybe Utena too sometime (if I can't borrow Alice's discs). I will be here for summer after all, seems like not too bad an idea for then.
Ended up talking to the guy for a rather long time about computers and game systems etc etc, and wasn't able to successfully convince him that AMD CPUs haven't had reliability issues for quite some time. Seems he made his decision when Tom's Hardware had posted that video showing the removal of the heatsinks on a P4 and an Athlon XP a few years ago. He apparently also goes to OhayoCon every year. He can definitely talk a lot.
Soon I shall be embarking on the journey which will be my parallel computing project, due before tomorrow at midnight. yay.
