Apr. 14th, 2006 05:23 pmTommorrow is the third annual do stuff for stuff challenge! I do hope that all our team members actually show up... but it should be interesting.
On a totally unrelated note, for some reason I've been wanting to comment on this for a while.
Until this year I think i was probably using the terms 'cinnamon roll' or 'cinnamon bun' and 'honey bun' interchangably. I feel now that I have accurately been able to distinguish them now, although I may have had the capability of doing so for long in the past, I had not realized that ability until fairly recently. This was likely brought about by my lengthy visits to the corner store, and the process of perusing every product in the store in order to buy anything, even if I know what I wanted (unless I'm in a hurry for whatever reason). I believe that during this consideration of all the products, there was an unconcious comparison that often occurred between the cinnamon rolls and the honey buns. This was also augmented by the occasional cinnamon roll purchase from the new coffee shop in grace watson, and from the SAU cafe. Thus, at some point this surfaced to conciousness, causing me to feel like I had suddenly gained some great new understanding, which ended up being rather trivial. At least I'll never mix them up again.
On another unrelated note, I took books out of the library here for the first time today:
-2 books on technical writing (for the heck of it)
-a book on python (the programming language)
-"HTML and XHTML The Definitive Guide" which i just realized might not cover any DHTML..
-"PHP 4 Bible" this one is big
and "Linux Network Servers" because I'm thinking of popping linux on the quad pentium pro and making it into a serious server (it's a rather serious machine), and I don't currently know much about security for linux specifically, have never configured SAMBA, haven't used linux to create a gateway server, and haven't ever written a logon script for anything.
