(no subject)

the server works! its just going to be sitting running seti@home and united devices until i get an IP and have some way to connect it to the network without unplugging something else, which may just involve having to use ICS.. stupid switch. Its not really fast at all. but its not really slow either, and in gui stuff its hard to tell what slowness is being caused by the computer and whats being caused by the video chip.. but it is meant to be server so its hard to judge performance like that on this thing. I think that while it isnt real fast, it'll handle alot before slowing down at least, with 4 cpus and 1gb ram... ah darn forgot to try disk benchmarking when i had it on the network.. oh well ill get to that. on an unrelated note I talking to jessie today was fun ^_^ and thats about all i did today, despite planning on working. but thats what tommorrow is for i hope.
