ive learned 2 things today: israelis dont like laser tag, and dont spill tea on laptops. went with hillel to the laser quest around here for laser tag against university of rochester's hillel.. we kicked their ass. twice. the first time we pretty much doubled their score.. i ended up #5 out of 32 people for that round and #8 out of 32 people the second game. i think university of rochester has a few more israeli people in hillel than we do and their attitude was pretty much 'wtf this isnt real combat' since of course military service is required in israel.. so they were being slightly more agressive and holding peoples guns while shooting at them etc.. it wasnt to bad though, laser tag is laser tag. and laser tag is fun. and im still thinking of ideas for ways we could make games that are closer to what we'd have in FPS's and stuff so we could have almost the satisfaction of a lan party in a slightly more physical activity than mouse clicking and mashing w,a,s,d,Ctrl, and spacebar.. so yeah about the tea and the laptop.. i was drinking cinamon black tea.. and i guess i kinda pushed the mug a little far forward and it tipped.. and my laptop is kinda dead now.. when i was cleaning it off with a towel i hadn't taken the battery out yet since it didnt seem like anything got into the case but it must have.. before i took the battery out the fan would turn on and it got to about where it should turn the lcd on and then shut off.. and then i took the battery out and put it back in and theres just a clicking sound now... most likely part of the power supply since i dont hear any capacitors charging or discharging and nothing seems to get power.. nothing much i can do.. took some covers off and the ram and hard drive seem dry. the 3 year warranty was one of the reasons i went with acer (aside from the fact that this is the fastest 1.3ghz centrio laptop out there) so yeah...

update about the laptop: its a good thing water evaporates. it seems to have restored itself to functionality and chances are it was something to do with power otherwise earlier it would have started turning on and then it would have been seriously messed up if there was liquid connecting traces i could have burned traces on the board and that would have been really really bad.. the clicking coming from somewhere near the power supply (the one internally that turns the power from the battery into 3,5, and 12 volts, obviously not the transformer-block thing) turned into a buzz and it worked... (i had left the battery out though) im not sure if ive heard the buzz before but thats ok.. it works.. i'm going to call acer anyway and give them my feedback about stuff and there are still some issues i have like i think the speakers might be blown (Theyre a bit crunchy, must have turned it up to hight at some point), it doesnt stay in sleep mode, the left mouse button sticks sometimes, and now the theres a buzzing noise whenever the battery is in, even if its not on (which could be from the spill but possibly not) so i'll see what they think. i really like acer support, like when i had problems with my 24x burner they sent me a 48x and its one of the fastest drives ive ever used.. (BenQ is the perhipherals division of acer for those who diont know) so yeah...
